A Ranch vacation is an experience where you, the vacationer, get a taste of ranch life. You spend your nights staying in a home built during the early days of Harbaugh Ranch and eat your meals with us. You join in the ranch work starting with the morning chores, then moving on to a variety of activities including herding cattle horseback or ride on a wagon pulled by a team of Clydesdale horses or mules some days. Other days, might find us checking livestock water and fences. Evening brings chore time again. Each day is a new experience of ranch life as well as wildlife viewing. Guests are allowed to actually get in on the action! The vacation can be booked anytime between April and October. The cost for the experience is $150 per day per adult, youth (16 and under) are $100 per day. We suggest a minimum three-day stay for you to experience a true “rancher’s life”.
What to bring on your ranch vacation adventure:
They say, “If you don’t like the current weather conditions in Montana, wait an hour!” With that being said, layered clothing is optimal. If you plan to come during the summer, you will need to be prepared for both warm and cold temperatures, as well as rain. We don’t get a lot of rain but you need to be prepared. Your basic items should include a comfortable riding boot (tennis shoes are great around camp but are not a good idea for riding, so please come prepared accordingly), an insulated jacket, lightweight rain slicker, hat or baseball cap, polarized sunglasses, sunscreen, water bottle and camera. If fall, winter or spring is when you choose to come, you also need to bring winter-type clothing. Often fall and spring gives us more “winter weather” than winter does. As you decide when you wish to come, we can give you more information on the necessary clothing.
Hope to see you soon!
